Package arrives in-store: The package arrives in store and is provisioned to the locker via a member of staff

1.Notification: The customer receives a notification that the item is ready and arrives in store to pick upThe lockers’ address is specified with the shipping carrier at the time of ordering. A shipping label is generated by the carrier itself, with a unique code assigned to the particular locker. 

2.Pick-up: Via a browser on their mobile phone, the customer states that they are in-store and next to the locker, then the locker opens and they retrieve their items. 

3.Transaction complete: The customer has successfully collected their package and your system is updated that the transaction is complete.

myflexbox Open Network Expansion: The Austrian company myflexbox is building a large carrier-neutral network in Germany. They recently reached 1,000 lockers and are expanding rapidly through partnerships. This includes placing lockers at Kaufland supermarkets (with a plan for 300 locations) , MediaMarktSaturn electronics stores, Shell gas stations, and Aldi supermarkets . Their lockers accept parcels from multiple carriers like DPD, UPS, GLS, and FedEx

United States

NYC's LockerNYC Pilot Program (GoLocker): Launched by the NYC Department of Transportation in April 2024, this public pilot uses GoLocker to place free public lockers on sidewalks to combat the 90,000 packages stolen or lost daily . The program has been highly successful, recently expanding to 70 locations after surpassing 15,000 package reservations and delivering over 10,000 packages with no security breaches . It accepts packages from all major carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL) . GoLocker is on track to reach 1,000 locations in NYC by the 2026 holiday season .

USPS Smart Package Lockers: The United States Postal Service is installing its own "Smart Package Lockers" in Post Office lobbies across the country . These provide a secure, 24/7 option for customers to pick up packages (including redeliveries and oversized PO Box items) using a code or QR code, bypassing retail counters .
